If you like
to chase big Steelies on a fly, you found the spot! In the fall some of these big boys
will go 20pounds! On a dry line that is pretty good sport! One of the preferred methods on
a dry line is to wetfly swing. Basically you through your line across the water and swing
it. It is actually pretty simple! This technique works rather well when the water is in
the 50 degree range. Later we go to sink tips and nymphing as the water starts to cool
off. Generally we can catch these boys even when the water cools into the mid to low 30's.

We are proud to
announce that we are offering a Spey casting school this summer on the
Clearwater river!
The School is
the last week of July and the first 3 weeks of August. We will be teaching 3
days a time. 4 anglers maximum. With a smaller class we feel we can do a
better one on one with you. We will be covering all the aspects of
Traditional and European casting styles. Some of the casts we will be going
over are "Single Spey", "Double Spey", "Snap T", "Snake roll", "Underhand",
etc, etc. This school is perfect for the beginner that wants to get a start
on the fall!
Currently we
are the only full time Fly Fishing Outfitter on the Clearwater! Our guides can accommodate
either single handed or 2 handed rods. The double hander is the perfect weapon for the
Clearwater! You can reach all those hard to get to spots. 2 of our guides have a combined
40 years experience flinging flies for Steelies! We can honestly say we have the best fly
guides on the Clearwater! And that isn't bragging!
Things you need to know!
